Holiday Baking Gift Guide
A gift idea for every foodie on your list! Since I (obviously) love to be in the kitchen, I thought I'd jot down a couple kitchen essentials that I've been loving this year and think your friends or family would too. Don't stress about the gifts this holiday, get them something they'll use and enjoy all year long!
Here are some staples to keep in your kitchen or great gifts to give to the favorite baker in your life. These options range in price and size so you can easily choose between an inexpensive stocking stuffer, white elephant gift or a big gift! Or mix and match to bundle a couple together for an awesome holiday baking basket!
-
Measured Rolling Pin - Take the guessing out of baking crusts, pizzas, cookies, or any other big doughy task you're tackling. The set includes both 1/4" and 1/8" rolling pins that have measured knobs on the end to help keep your measurements perfect!
-
Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat - If you read our Thanksgiving blog post this year, you'll know how much we LOVE this book! The show on Netflix is also amazing, however the book gives you great advice, recipes, and some beautiful illustrations to look at while you upgrade your culinary skills.
-
Kitchen Aid Standing Mixer - So this is a bit of a splurge, but you will NOT regret getting a standing mixer. I absolutely LOVE my Kitchen Aid and not only used it to start my business, but in my everyday cooking as well. Sure, a hand mixer is a great option too, but if you're needing to mix things that require 2+ minutes, this is a must have!
-
Sifter- Sifting flour allows the flour to become lighter and makes it easier to mix with other ingredients. A true time saver when it comes to cake and other dough recipes! If you've ever tried to sift flour with a mesh strainer, you'll know what a mess it makes and all the time it takes!
-
Cooling Racks - These are absolutely essential when you're baking cookies, cakes, or really anything that has to go in the oven! Cooling racks allow for you to transfer your baked goods onto a surface that allows air to flow all around it, decreasing cooling time. If you don't use a cooling rack the bottoms could become overdone from sitting and continuing to bake on the hot pan, even after you've taken it out of the oven!
-
Cookie Scoops - Trust me on this one! Using measured scoops will change your cookie making experience! No more sticky mess of rolling them with your hands and you get perfect, equalized cookies every time! It helps when you're trying to perfect a recipe and you can get a consistent size (not like I know anything about that 😉) .
-
Oven Thermometer- You know those foodies that have absolutely everything?! Get them this. It's a lifesaver. Put it in your oven to see the true temperature of it, you'd be surprised how many ovens are anywhere from 50-100 degrees off from the temperature you think you set it too! Dare we say it? Just look at those reviews!
-
Silicone Baking Mats- We're all about baking delicious healthy food without a lot of waste. These silicone baking mats are wonderful since you can re-use them instead of wasting parchment paper, wax paper, or tin foil. They're BPA- and PFOA-free for safe baking without using oil, butter or sprays to keep everything from sticking! These mats can also be used as a cooling mat once you remove the hot pan from the oven.
-
Baking Mitts & Potholders- One of those gifts that you get someone and they're SO thankful since they would never buy it for themselves. That is this! Let's face it, we all have pot holders and baking mitts... but they've been around for a couple of years. Even after a couple of washes, the pasta sauce, batter, or oil seems to stick around no matter how careful you are! These silicone based mitts & potholders are great since they are easy to clean and wipe off keeping them looking brand new!
-
Apron- Protect your outfit and be a smart baker with this awesome apron. A lot of people don't bake, cook with or even own an apron! This one is especially nice since it has a breakdown of measurement conversions on it- that you can read while wearing it! No more needing to google conversions while in the middle of measuring.
