A Healthy Spin on a Banana Split
Celebrate these last few weeks of summer with this simple and healthy breakfast banana split idea the whole family will enjoy. I love being able to take a traditional favorite and make it into my own healthy creation. This fun recipe sneaks in whole grains, a serving of fruit, good probiotics and omega 3's! The probiotics in Greek yogurt help improve digestion and fight off unwanted bacteria in our stomachs. Chia seeds add fiber, protein, antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids to this fun recipe as well. It's the perfect breakfast for the first day of school or to keep your family fueled during those busy weekends.
The best part about this recipe is that you can customize it to each family members preference. For example, use different toppings such as tropical fruit or walnuts, different flavors of Greek yogurt or add some Homestyle Double Chocolate Chunk Granola for a treat. - 1 Banana
- 1/2 cup Fresh berries
- 1/2 cup Erin Baker's Homestyle Coconut Chia Granola
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (flavor of your choice)
- Chocolate chips
- Split banana in half
- Add yogurt
- Add berries, granola and chocolate chips
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
