Healthy Apple Pizza Recipe for Busy Moms & Kids
Apple Pizza Snack with Peanut Butter, Homestyle Granola and Dried Fruit
Our September recipe of the month is awesome for kids but is also a great snack for on-the-go adults, too! What I love about this recipe is that it sneaks in whole grains, protein and fruit into a fun and delicious snack. It is perfect to make in September right when apples are in season! Go apple picking as a fun family outing or find some of your favorite apples on sale at your local grocery store. I love adding dried cranberries on my apple pizza as they pack a powerful antioxidant punch that helps our bodies stay healthy as the weather starts to cool down during the fall season.
This recipe can be taken on the road if your mornings are as busy as mine! All you have to do is mix the peanut butter and toppings together and layer on the bottom of a Tupperware container, slice up washed apples, and then lay your apples on top of the dip. When you're hungry, scoop the mixture with the apple slices for a delicious on-the-go snack.
Ingredients:
- 1 Apple
- 1/2 cup Peanut butter
- 1/2 cup Erin Baker's™ Homestyle Oatmeal Raisin Granola
- 1 tbsp. Shredded coconut
- 1 tbsp. Dried cranberries
Instructions:
- Cut the apple horizontally so that you have circular slices and carefully remove any core and seeds.
- Spread peanut butter on each circular slice of apple.
- Top with assorted toppings.
- Enjoy!
