Help Feed 1 Million Kids Program continued

I began the Help Feed 1 Million Kids Program with the same goal I had when I started Erin Baker's®: To make a difference in peoples' lives with the nutritious food I make. The United States is facing a national crisis due to low fitness and high obesity rates in our young people. In fact, an estimated 17% of children in the United States are now considered obese. This is a problem that will only get worse if we don't take action with ourselves, at home and in our communities. My commitment to eating healthier has changed my life and my passion is fueled by my own experience. If we show kids the way by providing them with healthier options and removing the unhealthy ones... it will catch on with them just as it did with me. If we change their food... it WILL change their lives!

Small acts of compassion when multiplied will change the world. This is my mission... what's yours?

Help Feed 1 Million Kids Program

Erin Baker's® is working in alliance with The Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington state towards the goal of feeding one million kids. Every purchase of our products goes towards feeding kids in need... it's that simple. This means we all can take action NOW to make a difference. Showing kids what a healthy breakfast is and then giving it to them on a regular basis will effect a positive change. A healthy breakfast is critical for overall health, development, productivity and social abilities. When children fail to eat a proper breakfast their brains do not have sufficient fuel for attention, concentration and learning and they tend to make poor food choices at lunch due to excessive hunger... this is serious! Help us make a difference in these children's lives, let's do it together one breakfast at a time!

The program got off to a great start with Whatcom County Boys & Girls Clubs, home of The Original Breakfast Cookie. Erin was shocked to find that many of the kids were arriving to the program without the most important meal of the day, so she stepped in with her Breakfast Cookie Mini as a solution. They are called a cookie for fun, but really they are a 'portable bowl of oatmeal' packaged with whole grains and sweetened with fruit - fueling kids with whole food protein, antioxidants, fiber, and complex carbohydrates.

"Erin Baker's partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs means that we can provide more meals to more children in Whatcom County. The company's support for enhancing nutrition for all children makes achieving our healthy lifestyle goals possible. Their dedication to feeding children wholesome, nutritious food makes this community a better place. Erin's passion and dedication to nutrition is contagious and she is setting an example that other business leaders can follow to make a difference in the lives of kids. However, none of this would work if she did not have a great product; the cookies are delicious and loved by our kids."

Fuel The Ride at Mt. Baker Ski Area

Erin Baker's® partnered with the Mt. Baker Ski Area to provide free breakfast to kids of all ages in the Mt. Baker Ski Area's Winter Ride Program. The program directors were finding that about half of the kids were hitting the slopes on empty stomachs. Now every Saturday during Winter Ride Erin Baker's sets up a tent on the mountain to greet kids and offer them a free Breakfast Cookie or cup of Granola and milk.

We are passionate about helping kids make the connection between fueling their bodies with healthy food and having lots of energy to perform on the slopes!
